Are you Mad as a Hatter? Do you have a flair for the silly, uncanny, dramatic, or macabre? Then try your hand at the “Mad as a Hatter” writing contest.
Contest Rules:
- One Entry Per Person
- Open to ages 10 – 18 years old
- Last day to turn in is Saturday April 30, 2022.
- Please include name, age, and contact information on entry
- Entry may be a short story (3 – 4 pages) or a poem.
- Use one of the prompts – interpretation is up to contestant
- Turn in at Burley Public Library or email entry with “Mad as a Hatter” Entry to libraryprograms@bplibrary.org

Re-write/re-tell a true story as a fantastical, or wacky adventure or poem

Prompt 1:
Write from a character in Alice in Wonderland’s perspective. About anything.

Poem Prompt:
Non-sensical poem about something mundane or simple
Do you like to color? Are you the next young Rembrandt or Michaelangelo? Then enter the library's "Alice in Color" coloring contest! Open to children ages 0-9.
