Our Summer Reading Program is back with prizes, events, activities, and reading incentives to help you and your children meet your reading goals this summer. The Burley Public Library Summer Reading Challenge is a 6-week reading challenge that children, teens, and adults can sign up for to earn prizes or chances to win drawings for prizes over the course of the 6 weeks. Children and teens earn set weekly prizes if they achieve their weekly reading goals. Reading goals for children are set by parents/guardians/caretakers and teens may set their own goals!

Children can earn extra prizes by doing additional activities listed in the passports. Teens cannot earn extra prizes but they can enter a weekly drawing for a chance to win local gift cards to places such as Ma’s Custard, Fizz Farm, Soda Frenzy, and Cozy Coffee. Adults who register for SR challenge can also enter a weekly drawing for a chance to win gift cards.

Weekly prizes can be picked up starting on the Wednesday of each of the goal weeks.

There are 6 weeks from June 2 – July 12. Passports must be turned in by July 12 to earn the final prize! We will not take them later than that Saturday.

Wednesday, June 4, 2025 is the earliest you can pick up Week 1 SR prize.
Wednesday, June 11, 2025 is the earliest you can pick up Week 2 SR prize.
Wednesday, June 18, 2025 is the earliest you can pick up Week 3 SR prize.
Wednesday, June 25, 2025 is the earliest you can pick up Week 4 SR prize.
Wednesday, July 2, 2025 is the earliest you can pick up Week 5 SR prize.

New for 2025 – we are not giving out a week 6 prize; this is the catch up week if you missed any previous weekly prizes and to give participants a chance to turn in passports. Participants must turn their passports by July 12 to get their final reader prize!

$1 reading cards available for non-residents of Burley (kids & teens 18 & under). Allows for two items checked out at a time.
