Writing Prompts

Prompt 1:

You are walking in the woods one day and you stumble upon a signpost with wooden arrows pointing in different directions. Each of the arrows are labeled with names of other worlds from books: Narnia, Middle Earth, Wonderland, Oz, Hogwarts…etc. Do you pick a new direction to go? Where would you go? What adventure would you go on in the new world? Who would you meet?

Prompt 2:

There are 3 roads in front of you: one that is a dirt path that leads into a dark gnarled wood, one is a cobble stone path that leads to a small village, and one is a concrete paved road that leads to a large city in the distance. You can’t turn around and go back the way you came. So, which way do you choose to go? Is it familiar? Are there strange creatures? What happens in this new place?

Poem Prompt:

Use one of your favorite books to read and sum it up in poem form. Example:

Wonderland by Miss Josie
A girl, a rabbit, a cat, and croquet,
She never thought it would end up this way.
The queen and the trial,
A tea party and mouse,
Shrunk tiny, bug sized,
Then grew big as a house!
Poor Alice decided it was home that she missed,
Awake then she wondered: Did that really exist?
