Special storytimes, online readings, coloring and writing contests… we’re ready for adventure here at the library!!
Writing Contest
Do you have a sense of adventure? How about a wanderlust for exploration? Then try your hand at the “X Marks the Spot” writing contest.
Writing Contest Rules:
- One Entry Per Person
- Open to ages 10 – 18 years old
- Last day to turn in is Saturday April 29, 2023.
- Please include name, age, and contact information on entry
- Entry may be a short story (3 – 4 pages) or a poem.
- Use one of the prompts – interpretation is up to contestant
- Turn in at Burley Public Library or email entry with “X Marks the Spot” Entry to josie@ebranch.lili.org
Writing Prompts
Prompt 1:
You find an old map one day…an ‘X’ is marked on it. What do you do?
Prompt 2:
You are on a journey of exploration in a new place! Where do you go and what are you looking for?
Poem Prompt:
A poem on travel to fantastical or real places.
Art Contest
Do you like to color? Are you the next young Rembrandt or Michelangelo? Then enter the library’s “Treasures in Color” coloring contest!
